Mom to two girls, wife to Glen Perkins (3 time All-Star Minnesota Twins pitcher) and owner to dog Harry Potter and Raymond.
Alisha is the co-founder and CCO of Haleigh House Publishing which launched in 2020 amid a global pandemic. Along with her other 2 female partners, they managed to release their debut novel to a an international best-selling status.
Her first and only non-fiction book Running Home was released May 31st, 2016. A story of dealing with mental illness in a world full of insane stigma.
In September of 2019, she released her first fiction novel, MARTYRED. A feminist thriller where cultural misogyny meets the power of female friendships. Her second fiction book, NOT THAT GIRL, launched August 10th, 2020 and became a debut best seller.
Alisha gets to count herself among the very few authors who have achieve best-seller status in both fiction and non-fiction.
Other writing has appeared in Women's Running, Huffington Post, Like the Wind Magazine, Fitness Most Magazine, Scary Mommy, Another Mother Runner, The Red Current, Minneapolis Running, Star Tribune, Girls with Sole, and Minnesota Twins Magazine.
Alisha has spoken about her struggles with anxiety and depression openly, honestly, and a little humorously for several years. She tries not to take herself too seriously but also wants to be taken seriously. She is complicated, contradictory, illogical, and ironic, but at the end of the day she is simply herself. She tries to be honest and authentic but is also a wimp who doesn't want to offend. She walks the line.
She gave her first TEDX talk entitled "How Many Celebrities Does it Take to Change a Stigma" in May 2019, centering around breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness in our society.
